The murder of George Floyd was a disgusting and despicable act and it is terrible that it has taken this to prompt me and many fellow white people to pledge to be more actively anti-racist. To be silent is to be complicit with the oppressor. I’m an incredibly privileged white woman & have a platform here - with that I feel a responsibility to spread the message that black lives matter. . White friends, there’s so much more work to do (link in my profile has many helpful resources). Donate to charities, when possible (@mnfreedomfund , @resourcingracialjustice , @blklivesmatter ). Diversify our social media feeds. Support black-owned businesses. Amplify the voices of people of colour. And educate ourselves (@theconsciouskid @rachel.cargle @laylafsaad @candicebrathwaite) so we can be awake to (and active against) the injustices and racism rife in our society.

Vegan Sourdough Brownies // i.e. the best vegan br Vegan Sourdough Brownies // i.e. the best vegan brownies I’ve ever made?? These are SUPER tender & fudgy (swipe to see a closeup of the texture 🧐) with that crackly crust we know & love 💕 They also use a FULL CUP (200g!) of discard so they’re amazing for using it up. I used a combo of aquafaba & ground almonds to make up for the lack of eggs. No flax or chia seeds in sight (so no seedy bits getting stuck in your teeth 😬). Link in my profileeeee!! ✨✨✨

(AD) Treacle tart is a classic, British comfort ba (AD) Treacle tart is a classic, British comfort bake (I’m craving all the nostalgic foods at the mo!) with the unmistakable flavour of @lylesgoldensyrup as a key, delicious feature. The filling is usually set with eggs but, in these eggless times, I’ve gone a different route using cornflour instead. It also, handily, uses breadcrumbs as the filling (which I’m sure you’ll have a lot of since everyone is making sourdough at the mo 🥖😉). You don’t even necessarily need flour as the shortcrust pastry can just be bought from the shops! . I’ve decorated mine with blueberries and strawberries in the shape of the 🇬🇧 for VE day, which has its 75th Anniversary this year. @Lylesgoldensyrup is donating 5p from every special edition VE tin (seen in the vid above) aiming to raise over £25,000 for the @HelpforHeroes charity to support those injured in the Armed Forces. #bakeforheroes. . Vegan Sourdough Banana Bread // yes the ultimate c Vegan Sourdough Banana Bread // yes the ultimate combo of the quarantine cliches, sourdough discard in an eggless banana bread!! 🍌🍞🍌🍞 (Complete the quarantine cooking bingo by serving it with a dalgona coffee whilst on a zoom call? 🤷🏼‍♀️). The batter also is quite flexible so there are many types of flour you can chuck in (e.g. buckwheat flour, chickpea flour etc..) so you can use up odds & ends! 💅🏼 Hope you give it a go!! (AD) I've been thoroughly enjoying eating blood or (AD) I've been thoroughly enjoying eating blood oranges lately and have come up with my idea of the perfect quick breakfast! @LiberteUK honey yoghurt with lightly caramelised blood orange slices & some of my browned butter stovetop granola (recipe below). The honey with the toasty flavour of the granola, the tart oranges and the super creamy yoghurt is impeccably good and so satisfying. . Stovetop Granola: Melt a knob of salted butter in a frying pan on the stove and cook until the butter starts to foam up a little. Stir in 3 to 4 large handfuls of oats and toast on the stove for a few minutes until fragrant. Make a well in the centre of the oats and add in around 1 tbsp of honey, let that melt a bit and then stir it into the oats. Keep stirring over a med-low heat for a few minutes until it becomes slightly less clumpy. Let it cool (it will crisp up as it cools) and then jar it up! You can mix in chopped nuts/seeds at the same time as the oats if you like. I added hemp seeds to this batch! #ThetasteLiberte #simplicitytastesbetter #Liberteyogurt #flavourbomb
